Product Details PCB Design Suggestions
3S Li-ion Battery Protection Board — Code 12 Product Brief
Overview
This protection board is built around PWCHIP’s proprietary PW7126 protection IC and four PW80N03 MOSFETs. It provides complete overcharge, over-discharge, overcurrent, and short-circuit protection for 3S lithium-ion battery packs (three cells in series, 11.1 V nominal, 12.6 V fully charged). The board supports a continuous discharge current of 15 A, with an overcurrent protection threshold of approximately 20 A. It also integrates the PW2213 balancing IC, which effectively extends battery pack service life.

Main Control IC
PW7126 is a protection IC specifically designed for 3-cell lithium-ion battery packs. It integrates overcharge, over-discharge, overcurrent, and short-circuit protection, and supports high-precision voltage detection.
PW2213 is a high-precision cell balancing IC. It effectively eliminates voltage differences between cells, extends battery pack service life, and ensures consistent charge/discharge performance.
Key Features
· Four PW80N03 TO-252 MOSFETs in parallel deliver 20 A overcurrent protection and 15 A continuous discharge.
· Three-cell balancing with PW2213 automatically equalizes the voltage of all three cells.
· The TO-252 package offers excellent heat dissipation, ensuring stable operation under high current for extended periods.
· Balancing function extends battery pack cycle life by more than 30 %.
· Ideal for premium high-power 3S battery pack applications.
